IMA and TAC Co., LTD (TAC) Sign Agreement on the U.S. CMA

TOKYO, Oct 14, 2021 - (JCN Newswire) - IMA(R) (Institute of Management Accountants), one of the largest and most respected associations focused exclusively on the advancement of the management accounting profession, recently signed a partnership agreement with TAC Co., LTD. TAC is now the first Silver Approved U.S. CMA(R) (Certified Management Accountant) Course Provider in Japan and will continue to provide learning capabilities to IMA's members and candidates in Japan. Now in its 41st year of developing professionals in Japan, TAC contributes to society through its four business segments: personal education, corporate training, publishing, and manpower. In its training arm, TAC has been preparing candidates to earn the U.S. CMA since 2012. TAC's agreement with IMA to become a Silver Approved course provider demonstrates another step in its commitment to furthering the accounting profession across Japan. This move coincides with its launch earlier this year of its brand-new CMA Exam Review experience in partnership with Becker Professional Education, a leader in providing customized personalized learning experiences and AI-driven platforms, and a strategic partner to IMA.

"Despite COVID-19, there is a large demand for accounting personnel. We have seen that the number of TAC graduates from the Japanese and U.S. CPA programs are increasingly attracted to the complementary U.S. CMA program. With our new Silver Course Provider status and agreement with IMA, we look forward to further promoting the U.S. CMA program," said Toshio Tada, President and CEO of TAC.

"Building on TAC's proven track record and methodology in training Japanese professionals in domestic and international professional certifications, IMA is excited to recognize TAC as a Silver Approved Course Provider of the U.S. CMA. This partnership signifies IMA's ongoing commitment to advancing the management accounting profession in Japan, supporting our members and industry professionals to future proof themselves in today's competitive business market," said Nina Michels-Kim, U.S. CMA, CSCA, Director of Partnership Relations Japan and Korea, at IMA.

IMA supports U.S. CMAs in the region from its regional office in Singapore and eight chapters run by volunteers, including two chapters in Japan (https://tokyo.imanet.org and https://westernjapan.imanet.org). The U.S. CMA is a global passport that can be found in well over 50% of Fortune 500 companies, plus hundreds of small and mid-size businesses. Professionals that earn a U.S. CMA pass a rigorous two-part exam that covers the mastery of 12 core practice areas in business, including technology, data analytics, risk management, corporate finance, ethics, and more. To date, more than 100,000 U.S. CMAs have been awarded. For more about the U.S. CMA, visit: http://cmaseasia.org/.
